About Vacation Rentals in Tucson

Nicknamed "Old Pueblo," Tucson, the third largest city in Arizona after Phoenix and Mesa, is surrounded by mountain ranges. Situated on an alluvial plain, Tucson has the Santa Catalina Mountains and the Tortolita Mountains to the north, the Santa Rita Mountains to the south, the Rincon Mountains to the east, and the Tucson Mountains to the west. A nature lover could never miss the view from Tucson of the surrounding mountains, particularly the 9,157 feet Mount Lemmon (Santa Catalina range), the southernmost skiing destination in continental United States, and the 4,687 feet Wasson Peak (Tucson range).

With so many natural and geographical landmarks around Tucson, it's an idyllic setting for a typical Arizona vacation of hiking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, and sight-seeing, as you enjoy a Wild West show and the picturesque setting, before heading to the city for some shopping. The Saguaro National Park is home to the saguaro cacti that only naturally occur in the Sonoran Desert, where the park is located. The Bajada Loop Drive provides picturesque views of the park, while offering many hiking trails. The Sonoran Desert also features the popular Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum.

The Mount Lemmon Recreation Area at the end of the Catalina Highway is a great hiking destination. The popular Aspen-Marshall Gulch Loop trail extends for 5 miles and climbs over a thousand feet in elevation. As you travel for about half an hour north from Tuscon, you'll reach Biosphere 2. It's a location which  resembles a landscape on Mars! For a personal desert experience though, you need to get on a horse or mountain bike and just sail into the desert.
