About Nevada

Nevada is a state in the western United States, bordered by Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and California. Carson City is the capital of Nevada and Las Vegas is the largest city. Las Vegas is the popular city of Nevada that is frequented by visitors and the area offers a variety of accommodation facilities ranging from hotels, motels and Las Vegas vacation rentals. The Echo Canyon State Park, Nevada, is a 65-acre reservoir with a campground, picnic area, group use facilities and boat launch. The park offers camping, fishing, and hiking. The park has an abundant wildlife and a wide variety of native plants as well.

Las Vegas is the area that offers shopping, convention facilities and restaurants, besides casinos.  Attractions like The Nevada state railroad museum and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum are also located in Las Vegas. Other interesting areas visited by vacationers in the area are Lake Tahoe and Henderson. Lake Tahoe is a popular skiing destination. The area has a number of skiing resorts, and the Heavenly Mountain Resort, located near Stateline, Nevada is the largest ski area in California and Nevada. Squaw Valley is the second largest ski area that hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics.  

The outdoor activities in Nevada include golf, hiking, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding. The Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, located on the southern edge of Elko County in Nevada is a major tourist attraction in the state. The refuge is home for hundreds of species of native and migratory birds and mammals.
