About New Mexico

The State of New Mexico is a southwestern state in the United States of America. Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico. It is located at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Santa Fe is a major tourist center and it is noted for Indian and Mexican handicrafts. Visitors frequent the area in summer and winter alike. The City of Rocks State Park, formed of volcanic ash 30 million years ago and sculpted by wind and water into rows of monolithic blocks, is a major tourist attraction in New Mexico.

Albuquerque is the largest city in the state of New Mexico, and vacationers at the area can find New Mexico vacation rentals that offer fine amenities. The points of interest in the city of Albuquerque include the Albuquerque Biological Park and Old Town Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Biological Park is an environmental museum and the specialty among the four facilities in the zoo is the Rio Grande Zoo. The zoo features more than 250 species of animals ranging from elephants to zebras. The zoo also has a variety of birds that include storks, eagles, and roadrunner.

The Elephant Butte Lake State Park is the largest lake in New Mexico, and a wide variety of water sports including fishing is available at the lake.  The park is located in the Southwest region of the state. Truth Or Consequences is a city located in Sierra County, New Mexico, and it is popular for its hot springs and spa facilities.
