The Kent Mitchell Nature Trail in Bald Head Island is quite a popular. It winds its way through a forested area of tidal salt marsh. Being right in the middle of the largest migration pattern on the east coast, Bald Head Island has an ever changing avian population. The island's most famous residents are the loggerhead turtles that come to nest here.
