About Washington

The wonderland called Washington is the destination for all types of vacationers, be it the active adventurer or the solitude seeker. From lakes to music festivals, trails, mountains and wineries, Washington offers something for everyone. Three major national parks grace Washington, and Mount Rainer National Park is an adventurer’s delight. The park is located in southeast Pierce County, Washington, and features the 14,410-foot Mount Rainier, a strato volcano. Outdoor activities like day hiking, bicycling, backpacking, climbing, fishing and boating are available in the park.  San Juan Island is another important vacation destination.

Cape Disappointment State Park will not disappoint vacationers in the area as the 1,882-acre camping park offers 2 lighthouses, and 27 miles of beach. Beachcombing is a popular pastime in the park and visitors can engage in hiking as well.  The vintage homes in the city display different architectural styles of different periods. Wine is another factor that makes Walla well known. There are over 100 wineries operating in the area and  the Vintage Walla is an exclusive annual wine tasting event that attracts visitors to the area.  The state has several hiking trails and hikers of all skill levels can find trails that suit their abilities. The Glacier View Trail is a moderate 5.8-mile round-trip hike that is accessible from July through October. The trail offers splendid views of Mount Rainer and it is kid-friendly as well.
